Frequently Asked Questions

Where is Irongate Recovery located?
We have multiple locations within the City of Knoxville, Tennessee. All locations are within walking distance to bus stops, employment opportunities, recovery meetings, grocery stores, restaurants, and shopping.
Do you have housing for men and women?
Yes, both. We have separate locations for men and women.
Is Irongate Recovery TDOC approved?
Yes. We are TDOC and RHP approved.
Is Irongate Recovery a faith-based program?
No. We are a 12-step based program.
Are any counseling services provided?
No. Any professional counseling, mental health services, or therapy needed by a participant must be sought at an outside location.
Is transportation provided?
No. All locations are within a quarter mile of a bus stop for convenience.
How long do I have to stay?
Typical program completion is a six-month commitment, but we are considered permanent housing.
Can I have my cell phone?
Cell phones and other electronics are allowed at entry.
Are there laundry facilities on-site?
Yes. Every location has coin-operated washers and dryers. We ask every newcomer to bring a roll of quarters with them at entry.
Do you administer medication?
No, however, certain prescription medications are allowed. All participants must be able to administer their own medication.
What is the age requirement?
18 or older.
Are overnight or weekend passes allowed?
Yes, with approval from probation, parole, or case manager. Participants are typically given 4 overnight passes each month.
Are visits from family and friends allowed?
No. For the safety and confidentiality of other participants, visitors are not allowed at Irongate properties for visiting purposes.
Am I allowed to work?
Yes. Participants commit to be employed during the duration of their stay.
Are meals provided?
No. Participants are responsible for their own food and meal preparation.
Can I have my car?
Newcomers are typically given driving privileges within 30 days of entry.
How long does it take to be accepted once a pre-entry form has been submitted?
If there is an open bed available, move-in can be immediate.
Do I have to have Insurance to get in?
No. This is a private pay residence.
Does Irongate accept MAT?
Yes. We accept newcomers with shot form only MAT.
What are the costs?
There is a $500.00 entry fee that includes the first week of program fees and drug screens. The weekly fees are $175.00 and include bed, utilities, wifi, and groups. Each participant is responsible for making a weekly contribution to their house for the purpose of keeping home essentials.
What are the payment options?
We accept credit card, debit card, money order, cashapp, third party check, and cash. Participants can choose whether they want to pay their program fees weekly($175.00), bi-weekly($350.00), or monthly($750.00).
What do I need to bring?
Irongate Recovery provides bedding and towels, everything else is the participant’s responsibility. Most people bring clothing, toiletries, pillows, their cell phone, books, personal identification, etc.
Is there a curfew?
All participants are treated on an individual basis and curfews vary based on circumstances. The typical curfew is 10 pm, but exceptions can be made for employment purposes or special circumstances.
